Choosing Electric Ball Valves

The need for electric ball valves in industrial applications is unmistakable. All of the system operations generally require some process control that needs to be geared towards manipulating process media through the pipes of a system. This can be for circulation, refining, or other production-related needs. Electric ball valves are able to control and direct the movement of these substances to ensure that they end up in appropriate places, and at the desired times. If there are time-sensitive operations, an electric ball valve can provide a seal, which will prevent a substance from entering that pipe opening until the desired time.

Electric ball valves are able to manipulate the flow of gases or liquids by opening or closing passages between different piping systems. If two pipes intersect in one space, a substance entering that intersection from one of the pipe openings will then have three directions it could go. One direction may be required for certain substances and production needs. Electric ball valves can be set to close off two of the possible pipe openings with a reliable seal, and force the gas or liquid to travel down the remaining pipe. Ball valves are very easy to operate and maintain, and they are able to provide a seal that works reliable in complete flow shut-off, without allowing for the substance to leak into undesired locations. Electric ball valves can be easily operated to shift their positions, which then changes which paths may be available for substance flow at an intersection.

Electric ball valves can also be installed at intersections where more than two pipes meet. This type of intersection might be necessary in an industrial system, depending on the overall functions, substance involved, and the end location. If a certain substance is being filtered or refined and then collected together in one location, several pipes may come together to collect the substance from different areas of the system. If a substance starts in one place and is then circulated throughout a system, several pipes may meet at an intersection to take the substance to one of several spots that requires some substance flow, for proper distribution. Electric ball valves with multiple discs, known as balls, can effectively work to distribute the gas or liquid that comes to these types of complicated intersections.

The electric component of the ball valve allows it to be controlled remotely, or set to automatically respond to a set of conditions. This helps to control circulation, by ensuring that the correct volume of flow moves down each pipe pathway. A switch can be used to turn electric ball valves on or off, which allows company workers to exercise some power over the operations. If slight adjustments need to be made in substance flow, a simple button activation of the electric ball valves can correct the situation. A ball valve requires a quarter turn of movement to open or shut, which allows or prevents passageway. This amount of movement can be achieved quickly, so that activating the on/off switch for an electric ball valve delivers almost simultaneous results.
